And it’s not produced by Ryan Lewis.

Following a relatively low-key 2017, Macklemore has dropped a new single, “Glorious” featuring Skylar Grey. The new record is produced by Joshua “Budo” Karp and Tyler Dopps.

“Glorious” is the first single to be released from Macklemore’s upcoming solo LP—his first solo project since The Language of My World over 12 years ago. The departure from production partner Ryan Lewis is an interesting move for the rapper, following their last two albums This Unruly Mess I’ve Made and Grammy-winning The Heist.

Macklemore took to Instagram earlier this week to tease the new record, releasing a short snippet of the song and the cover art, featuring Macklemore’s daughter Sloane. The song opens, “you know I’m back like I never left,” but whether Macklemore will be able to replicate the success of debut studio album The Heist remains to be seen.
