Draymond Green Claims He's Responsible for Warriors Blowing 3-1 Lead in 2016 NBA Finals
“It’s my fault.”
With the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors currently duking it out in this years NBA Finals, storylines surrounding the teams key players continue to emerge amping up the hype between these two bitter rivals. Facing off in the finals for the third straight year, there is certainly much to revisit when talking about history and past match ups. After a year of having to deal with blowing a 3-1 series lead, one of the Warriors’ key players Draymond Green has admittedly pointed the finger at himself as the reason for the collapse. The defensive enforcer was suspended for Game 5 for smacking LeBron James below the belt after James had stepped over him immediately following a crucial play.
In talking with ESPN‘s Tom Rinaldi, Green had this to say about the situation:
“One of the most brutal things I’ve ever had to go through in my life. If I played, we’d win of course, so I do feel it’s my fault that we lost. Absolutely my fault. He stepped over me. And I had a natural reaction to get him from over me, like you don’t step over a grown man. It’s disrespectful, and if it happened again I would do the same thing, get off me. I don’t feel wrong for what I did at all.”
