'Anthem' Is the Next Open-World Mech Shooter From the 'Mass Effect' Team
‘Anthem’ will be available on Xbox One X, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.
BioWare, the developers behind the Mass Effect series, has revealed a new sci-fi action-RPG co-op called Anthem at Microsoft‘s E3 press conference.
Players adopt exosuits called “Javelins” that give players superhuman abilities, each with their own playstyles, heavily customizable aesthetics and controls. You play as a band of heroes called “Freelancers,” where you and up to four players can explore the lavish open-world jungles together taking on quests and shooting hostile threats.
It’s speculated that Anthem is EA‘s answer to loot-based co-op shooters like Destiny, and that the game will boast a morality choice mechanic, teased with a quote in the trailer saying “you either live with the choices you make or die trying to change them.”
Check the gameplay trailer above and expect the game to release in Fall 2018.
