Acne Studios Looks Past Urban Street Style and Embrace Sophistication for 2018 Spring/Summer

For its recent Paris Fashion Week 2018 spring/summer showing, Acne Studios did the unthinkable and flipped the traditional presentation on its head by having the models comfortably seated on stage while showgoers paraded around in amusement. The lineup itself purposely veered away from urban street styling and instead took aim at exploring the sophisticated side of menswear. Oversized trousers and elongated trench coats paired with knit pullovers and woven loafers — embodying an air of casual elegance for summer.
When asked to comment on the collection, designer Jonny Johansson had this to say, “These are times that everybody is dressed in hoods—urban apocalyptic, like Mad Max—but for me it was important to show something beautiful, inspiring maybe, without being pretentious.”
