Drake Opens up the NBA Awards in His Signature Style Alongside Will Ferrell
“I’ve never been in a room with so many guys that have DMed my ex girl.”
The inaugural NBA Awards is currently running live in New York City, set to honor the league’s most diligent players. Hosting the event is none other than Raptors Ambassador and Canadian superstar Drake.
The rapper and basketball lover started the show with a cold open featuring Will Ferrell, in which they berated players over their lackluster handshakes. Following the pre-taped sketch, Champagne Papi appeared on stage in an ivory Tom Ford silk evening jacket and black trousers as he welcomed everyone to the first-ever ceremony. Check out the full speech above where Drake went on to explain his bandwagon jumping. Drake went on to say:
“People were upset that I’m the host because they say I’m a bandwagon fan. I have two teams, one from my hometown and whoever else is winning at the time. Just two teams.”
