Taco Bell to Open 300 More Cantina Locations
The new restaurants will include alcoholic beverages and digital menus.

By popular demand, Taco Bell has announced its intentions to build more of its famous Cantina restaurants. Rather than the traditional fast food format, the new Taco Bell restaurants will be modeled after the chain’s flagship spots in Chicago and Las Vegas that focus on dining in. In order to convince customers it’s worth sitting down for, the higher-end restaurants feature digital menu boards, shareable platters and alcoholic beverages. Taco Bell plans on opening 300 new locations across the United States by 2022, focusing on large cities like New York, Los Angeles and Boston. In addition to increasing global revenue to $15 billion USD worldwide, the move is expected to create 100,000 new jobs in the United States, according to reports.
Taco Bell also intends to expand its influence beyond U.S. borders, with targets like China, India and Brazil. Over the next five years, the company says it hopes to have around 100 locations in each new country. Taco Bell currently has 6,650 restaurants in 23 countries around the world.
