High above the bustle of Hong Kong’s Kowloon District, a new property venture that embodies the brand philosophy of ‘The Artisanal Movement’ from cultural entrepreneur Mr. Adrian Cheng of New World Development Company is rapidly approaching completion. Dubbed SKYPARK, a one-of-a-kind rooftop lawn sits 28 stories above street level and evokes sky-high green spaces, where residents can enjoy a picnic with the imaginative ‘Picnic in Aurora Dreams’ experience, a luxury that is all too rare in Hong Kong. The residential space will present owners with a host of facilities including a rooftop garden which leads onto the ‘SKYSTAIRS’ – an exterior stairway that offers access to THE AURORA, an open plan ‘clubhouse in the sky’ that includes a swimming pool, gym, and a library. Wind turbines and solar panels provide much of the complex’s power supply, whilst a rain water recycling system keeps the lawn irrigated automatically.
Designed in collaboration with Dutch architect firm concrete, who hold the accolade of being hailed as ‘Architectural Firm of the Year’ by Dutch press, the space, with its clean, modern design intends to offer residents a calm, more connected lifestyle; the kind that can be hard to come by in a city as busy as Hong Kong.
