Rich Chigga: "I Take My Music Very Serious. I Wouldn't Call Myself a Comedian"
The Indonesian rapper also talks about his goals for the future.
Fresh off an appearance at Miami’s Rolling Loud Festival, Rich Chigga opens up about goals for his music career and discusses plans for future projects in a newly-released XXL feature. Speaking to the renowned hip-hop outlet for a video interview, the “Back At It” rapper makes his intentions clear: his role as an actual recording artist is not any sort of joke or prank. “I take my music very serious. I wouldn’t call myself a comedian … music is definitely something I take seriously,” Rich Chigga tells XXL. “I love music so much, I’m super passionate about it … I don’t want to be a complete character because that can get exhausting after a while.”
Rich Chigga also explains to XXL that he’s currently working on injecting more “inspiring” and “real” themes in his music. Attempting to carefully move away from the more comedic style of “Dat $tick,” Chigga says he plans to make his new project an ”introduction to a more serious” form of hip-hop.
