The World's First Electric Air Taxi Has Taken a Successful Test Flight
Could this be what comes after Uber?
Munich startup, Lilium aims to get ahead of the on-demand taxi game occupied by companies like Uber and Lyft by developing the world’s first electric air taxi. The aircraft was controlled remotely for a vertical takeoff before going into forward flight and testing a series of complex maneuvers, which it completed successfully. A manned flight is expected to take place somewhere in the near future, followed by an upgrade to a five-seater design. In the meantime, the CEO has stated he’s happy they’ve found a solution to some of the “toughest engineering challenges in aviation.” Check out the clip above of the company’s first test flight.
