A Look Inside Herzog & de Meuron's 56 Leonard "Jenga" Tower in New York City
Featuring a sculptural spiral staircase, 75-foot pool, library lounge and more.
Located in the heart of Tribeca, Herzog & de Meuron‘s 56 Leonard tower is one of the most striking additions to the New York City skyline in recent memory — and the interiors are no less stunning. Spanning 17,000 square feet, the ninth and 10th floors of the 60-story building not only offer private residences, but a bevy of amenities for their lucky — and wealthy — tenants. Swathed in concrete, the two double-height levels are connected via a sculptural spiral staircase and include the likes of a 75-foot swimming pool with a terrace and hot tub, a fitness center and yoga studio, a wood-lined steam room, an indoor-outdoor theater, a library lounge, a private dining salon, and even a catering kitchen. There’s also a children’s playroom while design details include everything from metallic tiles and floor-to-ceiling windows to plush leather seating and metal-mesh ceilings.
56 Leonard was recently completed after first breaking ground way back in 2008.
