Daniel de Bruin Imagines a Biometrically-Controlled Thrill Ride
Get a load of the Neurotransmitter 3000.
Say hello to the thrill ride of the future: the Neurotransmitter 3000. Imagined by artist/designer Daniel de Bruin, the Neurotransmitter 3000 looks like something you might find at your local carnival in 2049 and has been in the works since 2015 when de Bruin built its first phase as a part of his graduation from HKU University of the Arts Utrecht in the Netherlands. The idea behind it? A single rider spins in circles as the seven-meter-high machine reacts to biometric data like heart rate, body temperature, orientation/gravity, and muscle tension for variations in motion.
Check it out in action above and head over to Vimeo for a look at more of de Bruin’s work.
