New Christian Dior Exhibition Looks Back at the Designer's Childhood in Normandy
Dior’s childhood home presents “The Source of a Legend.”

Christian Dior‘s childhood in Granville, Normandy had a profound effect on the designer. Dior himself even proclaimed, “My life and my style owe almost everything to its location and its architecture.” Now home to the designer’s namesake museum, the grand villa in which Dior grew up is now playing host to “Christian Dior and Granville: The Source of a Legend.” Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the museum and the 70th anniversary of the fashion house, the exhibition pays homage to the many influences on the Frenchman’s designs and not only highlights the villa’s decor and garden, but showcases family photos and portraits alongside Dior’s own couture.
“Christian Dior and Granville: The Source of a Legend” opened on April 8 and will remain at the museum through September 24.
