Edward Enninful Is the First Male Editor of 'British Vogue'
He was once appointed fashion director of ‘i-D’ magazine at the age of 18.

British Vogue just appointed Edward Enninful as its new editor in chief — he also becomes the publication’s first male editor. The 45-year-old succeeds longtime editor in chief Alexandra Shulman who held the position for 25 years (the longest tenure at the mag) and will oversee all editorial content for one of Condé Nast Britain’s primary fashion media entities. Prior to Brit Vogue, Enninful was creative and fashion director of W Magazine since 2011. At age 18, he was named fashion director at i-D magazine and was the British Fashion Council award recipient for fashion creator of the year in 2014.
In an IG post, British Vogue presented a picture of Enninful with his statement: “I grew up reading British Vogue – I am so honoured and humbled to be taking up the mantle of editor.”
