These Are Instagram's Best Shots of the Nike Air Jordan 1 "Royal"
The return of an icon.

We don’t see the Air Jordan 1 “Royal” that often, but when it surfaces you can bet that a frenzy will be the result. Arguably the best colorway of the iconic Air Jordan 1, its “Royal” iteration was also the first colorway of the Air Jordan 1 made available to the public. It’s simplicity is what draws Jordan fans to it thanks to history of high quality leather and strong color blocking. In addition, its color combination of Black and Royal happens to be Michael Jordan’s personal favorite colors rather than the assumed Bulls’ Black and Red combination.
1985, 2001 and 2013 were the only previous years the Air Jordan 1 “Royal” was made available to the public which led to the assumed frenzy that this release caused upon the public. Colorways such as the “Top Three,” “All Star” and “Satin” iterations have shown that Jordan Brand is stepping things up in terms of quality and innovations, but it’s always exciting to see the Jumpman return in OG form. With that being said, where does the Air Jordan 1 “Royal” rank for you? Is it the best OG colorway or does it comes second to the “Bred” or “Chicago” editions?

Fresh out of the box. If you’re not too caught up in smelling your new pair, you may find yourself spending a significant amount of time just admiring that you have them in your possession. Other than that, there’s nothing like taking them out of the box for the first time.

Capturing the beauty of it all. The reality of it is that the process to get them is far from beautiful. Entering raffles, standing on line and waiting for your plug to respond are all stressful events. The culmination of the cop allows you to appreciate the process.

The perfect picture can make you reconsider copping if you happen to be on the fence. Effortlessly complementing a simple aesthetic of anticipation, the Air Jordan 1 “Royal” looks good clean or with some good wear and tear.
@kinyes
It’s all in the details. One thing that true Jordan fans appreciate is good quality. Jordan Brand has delivered on their part in terms of past releases such as the “Shattered Backboard,” “Satin” and “Bred” Air Jordan 1 with impressive quality, creating a larger demand for the 2017’s “Royal” return.

Fit check! Let’s be honest, you know what you were going to wear before you made them a part of your personal collection. There’s nothing wrong with being prepared and ultimately, you can’t wait to be the one turning heads once you step out.

It’s either a love or hate moment once those creases start settling in. Many are fans of the Air Jordan 1 “Royal,” but you also have those who’d rather have them crispy clean or worn with creases that tell a specific story. Nonetheless, you’ll get those marks around the toe that start to make their way up sooner or later.

This is for those who remember Js are for balling as much as they are for stunting. Show the court what MJ’s legacy is, then show them what the hype is all about after. No need to choke these up though, sometimes they look better unlaced.

Out with the old, in with the new. The Air Jordan 1 “Royal” from 2001 allowed MJ fans to take a trip down memory lane. 2017’s iteration does the same, minus the Jumpman hangtag. Over time we’ve seen new innovations such as the “Top Three,” but true enthusiast always appreciate the return of an OG.

It’s as if there’s background music begins to play when you remove the lid from a pair of highly coveted Air Jordan 1s. When complemented by what one can assume to be a beautiful view, it makes it all worth the hassle of copping.

Everyone has their go-to background to shoot sneakers whether it be wood floors or just a nice, clean wall. Nevertheless, the product speaks for itself, just make sure to keep them clean and on the streets — no one ever complimented your sneakers hidden inside a box.
