Two new songs from Sampha have emerged on a this new radio show from Richard Russell, the founder of XL Recordings. Prior to starting the imprint, Russell was a producer who worked alongside the likes of legendary artists like Bobby Womack and Gil Scott-Heron and now it appears he’s revisiting his first love with the release of his new musical compilation project called Everything Is Recorded. The project will feature contributions from Mark Ronson, Brian Eno, Syd, and Sampha, who he recorded two songs with for the LP. He briefly talked about the project on the show and then premiered the two Sampha collabs later in the segment: “Close But Not Quite” and “Everything Is Recorded.” The first song can be heard at the 53:58 mark while the latter can be heard at the 1:13:51 mark. Check it out below.
