Mindset's Headphones Measure Brainwaves to Help You Focus
Embedded with five EEG sensors and noise-cancelling technology.
With the endless amount of social media platforms, apps and shows bombarding our screens and constantly vying for our attention, it’s easy to get derailed from focusing on a specific task. Thus, the team at Mindset has created a set of smart headphones that use electrodes to track your brainwaves. A series of EEG sensors can determine whether you’re distracted and will set off a subtle tone encouraging you to refocus. Paired with an app, you can also keep tabs on your average concentration time or figure out the optimal period during the day to tackle more intensive activities. The headphones also tout premium features of other high-end devices like Bluetooth and noise-cancelling technology, along with exceptional audio quality from Japan-based electronics brand, Onkyo. While this so-called “neurofeedback” can help you monitor your brain’s activity, there’s no scientific proof of it actually improving your attention, as The Verge points out.
