Jaguar Classic Will Sell a Rare Fully Restored 1965 Series 1 E-Type Next Week
The first of ten in the company’s “Reborn” program.

Jaguar Classic has announced that it will be restoring ten of the first generation E-Types and selling them directly to customers as part of the Jaguar Land Rover “Reborn” program. The first of the Series 1 E-Type’s is a 1965 model finished in “Opalescent Gunmetal Grey” packing a 4.2-liter engine and 78,000 miles. Jaguar acquired the vehicle which has been in storage since 1983 and restored it to factory specs retaining as many original parts as possible — fully number matchin the original engine and transmission — and adding replacement Jaguar Classic parts where needed.
Set to debut at Techno-Classica Essen in Germany next week, the starting price will be about $355,000 USD. Enthusiasts with deep pockets can also add on costly options like an upgraded cooling system like the one found in the Lightweight E-Type and upgraded brake calipers from the Series 2 E-Type.
