Harmony Korine's 'Spring Breakers' Is Getting Its Own TV Series
The colorful cult classic makes its way to the small screen.
Entertainment news site Deadline reports that the Harmony Korine-directed film Spring Breakers is headed to television as a newly-formed series. The 2012 cult classic was produced by Chris Hanley and Fernando Sulichin and they will be bringing the title to a digital platform debuting soon called Blackpills. It’s also being reported that Harmony Korine is not involved and that castings are still “in the works.”
Spring Breakers starred Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine. They played college students who commit robberies and get acquainted with shady individuals such as James Franco and Gucci Mane’s character. It’s unsure yet how the show will be presented but Blackpills specializes in “short scripted premium content.” So while there’s no concrete plot for the show, fans can expect the length of each episode to be released in shorter clips.
