Craig Green Releases a Mystifying 2017 Spring/Summer Campaign
The British menswear designer of the year channels abstract expressionism.
British menswear designer of the year Craig Green, ever one to make the bold statement, most recently flexed his artistic muscle for his eponymous brand’s Spring/Summer 2017 campaign. Shot by photographer Jack Davison, the campaign’s hazy images capture the spring/summer collection’s bold patchwork-quilted garments and breaks them down into formal elements of art — color, line, shape, pattern and composition– hammering home the collection’s study in form and movement. In the three compositions titled “Flag,” “Blocked” and “Backless,” we see figures draped in ornate and voluminous garments, stacked atop one another, forming nebulous sculptural shapes that are captured in movement.
