Slam Jam and ASICS Tiger Collaborate on Two Exclusive Iterations of the Retro GEL-MAI

ASICS Tiger‘s retro 90s model GEL-MAI saw a return to shelves back in November, 2016 with an exclusive collaboration alongside Ronnie Fieg of KITH. This week, the unorthodox silhouette makes a return for spring 2017 in collaboration with Italian retailer Slam Jam in a pack titled “Angle.” For the limited release, the duo release utilizes the GEL-MAI’s asymmetrical upper to play with a highly contrasting set of colors — black/blue and green/violet. While the former may be more wearable to casual sneakerheads, the latter’s bright yellow, pink and purple will definitely challenge fans of streetwear and high fashion to think outside the box when coordinating.
The black/blue GEL-MAI will launch on February 25 at Slam Jam Milano and SlamJamSocialism.com while the green/violet pair is receiving a more exclusive treatment with a release at Slam Jam (both in store and online), as well as KITH, mita sneakers and Dover Street Market Ginza in very limited supplies.
