Watch How ILM London Provided the Jaw-Dropping Visual Effects for 'Rogue One'
VR was used to produce some of the movie’s scenes.
It’s no surprise that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was nominated for an Oscar nomination for “Best Visual Effects.” To give you a better idea of the inner-workings behind some of the flick’s breathtaking scenes, BBC Click went to visit Industrial Light and Magic in London to show us the technology used for certain sequences.
For a few of the battle shots in space, a special VR device was utilized to control the visualization of some of the X-Wing vehicles and Star Destroyers. Furthermore, the company also provides a breakdown of how it was able to create the compelling, alien-filled worlds that our heroes visit.
