'Stranger Things 2' Premiere Watched by Over 15 Million People
But the number might be even higher.

With Netflix remainining notoriously cagey with its information, getting instant gratification on viewership figures for Stranger Things is something of an uphill battle. Thanks to audience tracking firm Nielsen, a little over a week since the initial release, we now know that the second season of the popular show was watched by 15.8 million people in the US during the first three days. Meanwhile, 326,000 people watched the entire series in a single day.
However, Netflix has disagreed with the viewing figures, saying that Nielsen’s figures were “not even close.” Nielsen’s audience measuring technique collates numbers from TV using audio recognition software, but doesn’t track desktop computers and mobile streams — meaning the audience for the show is likely even larger than assumed.
There’s no shortage of Stranger Things merch out there, and clothing is no exception to the rule, the latest addition to Hawkins-related apparel being a Stance socks collection.
