Supporters of Meek Mill have taken part in a protest against the rapper’s recent incarceration. #Rally4Meek started on November 13 in front of the Philadelphia Criminal Justice Center in the late afternoon and was supported by notable names such as Rick Ross, Freeway, Julius Erving in addition to two Philadelphia Eagles players in Vinny Curry and Malcolm Jenkins.

At the event Ross addressed the crowd, saying the following:

“I’m here for one reason: I’m here to support my brother Meek Mill,” Ross told the crowd. This type of wrongful incarceration has unfortunately become the calling card in urban cities around the U.S. It wasn’t simply a miscarriage of justice, it was an abortion of justice.”

The protests happened after it emerged that the judge who sentenced Mill may have attempted to coerce the rapper into remaking Boyz II Men’s hit “On Bended Knee” and give her a shoutout.

You can see Ross at the event in the video below.
