Spike Lee's New 'She's Gotta Have It' Trailer Introduces Nola Darling

Netflix has dropped the latest trailer for the newest Spike Lee joint, a 10 episode series of the updated Lee classic She’s Gotta Have It. The film was originally Lee’s first independent picture and follows the same story and cast of characters in a modern setting. The series stars DeWanda Wise as Nola Darling, an uncompromising woman struggling to define herself and divide time between her social life and love life.
The latter consists of three individuals: a cultured model named Greer Childs, the protective investment banker Jamie Overstreet, and the Air Jordan-loving sneakerhead, Mars Blackmon. The series is set entirely in Fort Greene Brooklyn, but its 30-year evolution to a gentrified area is expected to play a part in this new iteration of the property. The series also stars Anthony Ramos (White Girl) as Mars Blackmon, the iconic role originated by Spike Lee. Check out the trailer above and leave your thoughts in the comments below.
