Pharrell Williams to Produce New Horror Movie With Tracy Oliver

Pharrell Williams has teamed up with Tracy Oliver, the writer of one of this summer’s hit comedies, Girls Trip, to create a movie adaptation of the acclaimed young adult thrilled book Survive the Night. Pharrell, in tandem with his i am OTHER Entertainment partner, Mimi Valdes, will produce the movie, while Oliver will write and direct. The collaborative project, that recently got the go-ahead from Warner Bros., has been labeled as a “music-themed horror thriller,” although no more details of the movie have been established.
The original novel, written by Daniell Vega, focuses on a group of female students who become trapped at an underground music festival in the NYC subway on the night of Halloween. When one of the friends is suddenly killed, the night quickly takes a turn for the worse and the girls are soon fighting for lives.
