Onyx Collective's New EP 'Lower East Suite Part One' Is Here
The debut studio project from the Manhattan jazz group.

After teasing the upcoming project with the single “Fruit Stand” earlier this week, NYC-based Jazz ensemble Onyx Collective has released its debut studio project, Lower East Suite Part One. The EP serves as the group’s first studio effort through record label Big Dada, following up 2016’s release 2nd Ave Rundown. This is also the first time Onyx Collective’s music has been available online, with previous releases only released in physical form and distributed locally. Saxophonist Isaiah Barr wrote in a statement that this was a large part in shaping the group’s identity and vision moving forward.
New York’s role in Onyx Collective is everything. The names of people, the places, the street corners here are so legendary and historically prominent – it leaves a roadmap that we can walk through and a story for us to follow.
