Popular sneaker marketplace GOAT will launch a new pop-up footwear gallery very soon. Known as The Greatest, GOAT’s new spot will creatively pay tribute to all the talented individuals, specific pieces and boutiques that have propped up and propelled everything sneaker culture stands for. The Greatest’s inaugural exhibition will be titled The Greatest: Los Angeles; it will shine the spotlight on the City of Angels’ contributions to the global sneaker movement, and focuses on the impact and history behind 25 specific pairs of shoes.

The Greatest: Los Angeles will honor creations such as the Nike Air Jordan IV “Undefeated,” Air Force 1 “Mr. Cartoon,” Air Max 97 360 x Union, Yeezy PowerPhase “Calabasas,” Dunk Low Pro SB “Diamond” and more. Workshops and open sessions with influential talents and industry icons such as Jeff Staple, “The Shoe Surgeon,” Jason Markk, Theo Martins, Sophia Chang, Andrea Lieberman, Jimmy Gorecki, Cole Younger and others are set to go down — Markk will also command special sessions and workshops on how to clean suede.

“I think people are a product of the environment in which they were raised. LA is not only a melting pot of various ethnicities, but LA is also an intersection of diverse subcultures such as skate, surf and gangs,” explain Markk. “This is evident in the way we live, carry ourselves, and also what’s on our feet.”

“We’ve wanted to create a physical space like this for a long time, to inspire and bring people from different backgrounds together through their love of sneakers,” adds Daishin Sugano, co-founder and CPO of GOAT. “We’re excited for the opportunity to share some of LA’s contributions to the sneaker community since 2000, and explore where the industry is headed to next.”

The Greatest: Los Angeles will go live on October 7, with a special launch event will take place and a secret guest DJ has been booked to perform. Interested individuals can expect similar happenings to go down before the end of the year, and more are already in the works; you can expect additional event announcements in the near future.
