Nike Honors Steve Prefontaine With Special Classic Cortez Premium
Paying tribute to an athlete who was always ahead of the pack.

Nike’s iconic Cortez silhouette will soon see another makeover in a special “Stop Pre” colorway. This edition hosts a white based upper with complementary red and royal blue coloring throughout. This Classic Cortez Premium pays homage to the middle and long-distance runner, Steve Prefontaine, who was also known by the name “Pre.” As a result of his success, those he went up against would even don “STOP PRE” tees to no avail. Previously launched in “Forrest Gump” and “NAI KE” editions, the upcoming “Stop Pre” Classic Cortez Premium hosts a stop sign graphic on its heel with nostalgic Nike branding along the tongue.
Set to launch on January 28, the Nike Classic Cortez Premium “Stop Pre” will retail for $90 USD and be available at select Nike Sportswear retails in addition to online.
