Christian Dada Exhibits a Sense of Struggle for Its 2017 Fall/Winter Collection
Incorporating design cues from both the east and west.

Considered still relatively new to the Paris stage, Christian Dada under the artistic guidance of designer Masanori Morikawa took to the runway with a sense of struggle set as the underlying theme. With subtle references to drugs weaving in and out, namely in the Coca-Cola logo-spoofed pullover, ensembles also seemed to incorporate accents borrowed from both eastern and western sensitivities. For instance, staple items such as the double-breasted blazer and the puffer vest were stylized in such a way that payed homage to the Japanese kimono. When asked to comment on his collection, Morikawa added, “The focus is on something like conflict, frustration.”
