adidas brought upon its latest apparel unit on August 30 in the form of adidas Athletics; an athlete-focused collection that’s meant to separate itself from the booming market of sportswear. Its core value lies in the appeal of focus–each piece is meant to cater to the athlete wearing it, with performance and their style in mind while training. Designs are mostly kept minimal while advanced fabrics and features highlight functionality that’s vital to each and every player for each and every sport. Its key piece, the ZNE (short for “Zero Negative Energy”) Hoodie, embodies all the above aspects, providing a modernized approach to the traditional pregame outwear that aids in removing external distractions to maximize focus.

To commemorate the inaugural launch, adidas Athletics held a private event for industry leaders, influencers, athletes and performers. Its guest speakers included Olympic gold medalist Tori Bowie, Andrew Wiggins of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Joakim Noah of the New York Knicks, junior tennis star Coco Shilin, VP of Training for adidas North America Kate Ridley, and VP of design for adidas Training & Sportswear Rob Lee. Musical performances by Metro Boomin’ and Fetty Wap graced the audience to round out the event.

Check out the recap photos above and stay tuned for more collection pieces from adidas Athletics in the coming weeks.
