Filming vehicles for adverts and films was once a difficult process held back by the availability of the car models, but the process has become increasingly easier through advancements in CGI and 3D modeling techniques. Many film production studios are already using computer-generated vehicles as seen in movies like Deadpool. However, minor details such as shadows and interaction with the environment cannot be fully emulated. Thanks to creative house THE MILL and their adjustable rig, the Blackbird®, filmmakers can now capture completely a realistic physical performance of vehicles on the road. With an adjustable length, width and suspension, the Blackbird can mimic the movement of any car model, making the process of filming vehicles extremely cost efficient. Check out the video above to see the full capabilities of the rig.
