KAWS Presents New Works at Giswil's More Gallery

Coinciding with Basel Week Switzerland.

Launched in time for this year’s Basel Week Switzerland, KAWS’s latest solo showing sees the New York-based artist return to More Gallery after his debut three years ago. For this chapter, the graffiti-turned-contemporary artist created large-scale works titled Together which features two large Companion figures embracing one another, and Good Intentions, which shows another large Companion walking alongside his smaller child-like counterpart. Sculptures aside, the three glass works on show include paintings from KAWS‘s Peanuts-inspired series transformed into abstract 3D pieces in pink and grey as well as black and white. Offset by the Giswil gallery’s industrial backdrop (the space used to be a turbine hall of power plant), the latest undertaking is an example of how the artist is pushing the envelope to his work through the use of advanced technology. The exhibition is on show until August 28.
