Haider Ackermann Shows off an Energetic 2017 Spring/Summer Collection
The designer breaks from his usually somber palette with vivid color.

Haider Ackermann is known for his elaborate layers and silhouettes, often rendered in a dark color palette, but the designer decided to take a lighter path for Spring/Summer 2017, incorporating a host of brighter hues in loose satin finishes. Ackermann was inspired by the gang of young people he surrounds himself with. “They are full-on. And I wanted to capture their energy,” the designer explained. “They are just kids who want to dance and party and be happy. They don’t have the heaviness of the world.” Women’s looks were also incorporated into this show, making Ackermann yet another designer who has chosen to bend the rules of the traditional fashion calendar. Standout pieces included loose baggy pants, silk jackets and metallic-treated leathers. Check out the gallery above and stay tuned to our ongoing fashion coverage here.
