Forever 21 Is Selling a Shirt That Looks Suspiciously Similar to Kanye West's 'The Life of Pablo' Merch
“We believe we are both copying the same source.”

Kanye West‘s The Life of Pablo pop-up stores have proved to be an extremely successful venture, sparking widespread admiration over a million dollars of sales. The range has also sparked a range of knockoffs and imitations, and the latest to jump on the bandwagon is Los Angeles-based brand sdc by Simon de Cyrene. Stocked in Forever 21, the company is selling a shirt that utilizes the same font, formatting and color scheme from Yeezy’s Pablo merch. After reaching out to sdc, The FADER received the following response:
“There are resemblances [to Kanye's Pablo merch], yes. But we believe we are both copying the same source. We are both tuned to the same tuning fork. We have nothing to do with Forever21 – we just felt it was a good way to make fashionable (and apparently controversial) designs accessible to the masses at affordable prices. That is the very point of our brand – that we can make fashion accessible to everyone, not just for those that would pay $120 for a blank white tee, or $500 for a cotton sweatshirt.”
