'The Breakfast Club (Group 5)' Trailer Explores Legendary Racers of Motorsport
Four classic endurance racers reunite in this true motorsport story.
The height of the motorsport craze that began in the ’60s saw the birth of the infamous Group 5, an FIA motor racing class that held some of the sport’s most historic icons across four distinct categories from 1966-1982. Originally intended for Special Touring Cars before being narrowed down to limited 5.0L Sports Cars, the short-lived class of legendary machines only lasted two seasons before the class was shut down in ‘72 and has since been celebrated in pop culture as one of the most riveting racing classes in history (just check Steve McQueen’s film, The Man & Le Mans).
Directed by Frank Liew, The Breakfast Club (Group 5) tells the story of the Group 5’s Ferrari 512S ”Coda Lunga,” Porsche 917, McLaren M6GT and Lola T70 at their first reunion at Goodwood’s 74th Members’ Meeting, 40 years after the class was shut down. Catch the trailer above and stay tuned for The Breakfast Club (Group 5) to be released soon.
