Nike's Taupo Marks the Swoosh's Latest Foray Into Premium Sandals
The sportswear giant takes on high fashion’s version of your dad’s favorite sandals.
Nike is no stranger to premium sandals, introducing the likes of an HTM design back in 2010 before following up last year’s Free Rift hybrid with a marbled version of the NikeLab design. Even the tried-and-true Benassi slide has received the NikeLab treatment, not to mention Tech Fleece and corduroy construction. Now the Swoosh is back with another brand new design, introducing the Taupo for Spring/Summer 2016. Decked out in either black or white, the silhouette couples a trio of patent leather straps with a plush footbed, slim rubber outsole and minimal branding. Think of it as the sportswear giant’s own take on high fashion’s dad sandals that have hit the runway in seasons past.
Both colorways are set to hit Nike dealers like HAVEN starting this Thursday, May 26.
