With a top speed of 108 mph, Jay Leno’s vintage Mercedes-Benz Racecar Transporter was the fastest of its kind when it came out in the ’50s. The unique cab-forward design was a model Leno lusted for since he was a child, and was expertly built to withstand 9-10 hour trips to Germany if race cars needed repairs. On the latest episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, the host and car enthusiast shows off his classic bright blue transporter (exhibited here with a 300SL Gullwing on its back) and runs through the history of the German machine.
