Watch Thomas Winkle Give a Skater's Tour of Barcelona
Including the obligatory MACBA check-in.
Barcelona’s ever-evolving cityscape and Gaudi architecture make it a hotbed for creative skateboarding, so much so that seasoned skate filmographer Thomas Winkle has called the Spanish city home on and off for the past twelve years. Watch as Winkle gives Vice a tour of the skater’s Barcelona: he introduces the crew to his neighbor (a cop), his landlord (an unsuspecting Spaniard) and a who’s-who of skate talent on the streets, most of whom Winkle knows on a first-name basis. There’s also an obligatory stop at MACBA, Barcelona’s museum of contemporary art — a literal landmark in the world of street skating.
