Southside With You is a Richard Tanne-directed film that recounts President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama’s first date. Set in 1989, three years before their wedding, the daylong date took them from the Art Institute of Chicago to a screening of Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing to the site of their first kiss outside of an ice cream parlor. Southside With You can be seen at select theaters around the U.S. starting this weekend.
