A First Look at Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa in the 'Power Rangers' Reboot
Banks takes on one of the most iconic ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ villains.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is returning to the big screen next year with a brand new reboot and now we have our first look at Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa — one of the most iconic villains from the ’90s television show. Differing mightily from the humanoid alien witch that was bent on taking down the Rangers and ruling the galaxy in the first season of the TV show, Banks’ Repulsa is decidedly more menacing thanks to a reptilian makeover with gold talons to boot. And the look won’t be the only change for Rita: Banks promises the character has an entirely new backstory that connects her to the new Rangers.
Directed by Project Almanac‘s Dean Israelite and written by a team behind the likes of X-Men: First Class, Thor, Chronicle and Kong: Skull Island, the Power Rangers reboot is currently shooting in Vancouver and slated for a March 24, 2017 release.
