Ewan McGregor Stars in the Adaptation of John le Carré's 'Our Kind of Traitor'
Another of the British spy master’s novels hits the big screen.
In the past decade, British author John le Carré’s espionage-centric Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Constant Gardener and A Most Wanted Man have all been adapted for the big screen — that latter of which saw one of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s best and final performances. Now you can add another to that list: 2010’s Our Kind of Traitor. Starring Ewan McGregor alongside Naomie Harris, the spy thriller sees the two as a couple who inadvertently get tangled up in a globetrotting affair in which a high-profile money launderer for the Russian oligarch seeks to defect to the UK.
Also featuring Damian Lewis (who stars alongside Tom Hiddleston in the acclaimed BBC six-part adaptation of le Carré’s The Night Manager), Our Kind of Traitor will hit theaters May 13 in the UK before coming to the United States July 1.
