Citizen Unveils the World's Thinnest Light-Powered Watch
With an unbelievable one-millimeter-thick movement.
While Citizen may not be the first name you think of when talking about luxury watches, it’s surely a prominent name in horological innovation. The brand is celebrating 40 years of its Eco-Drive technology by introducing the thinnest light-powered watch in the world. Packing together 85 components in a one-millimeter-thick movement, it can power itself for about 10 months on a full charge. The timepiece will be available in four different models including a limited edition piece (retailing for $6,000 USD) that is constructed from cermet — a hybrid metal. Stainless steel options are available for $2,600 USD with cermet bezels and anti-reflective sapphire crystals. Learn more about the watch here.
