DeHub Is a Modular System That Makes Any Space a Home
A simple and ingenious solution to a big housing problem.

The Hub, also know as “DeHub,” is a modular and easily dismantled system that allows empty spaces to be converted into a home. A simple square kit is all it takes — it includes a built-in kitchen, shower and toilet. The modular system also provides heating and a sound system, and only requires access to water and electricity to function. An extra BedHub is also available with space for a bed. How the hub works is that these spaces can be leased so that the user isn’t purchasing a home, but instead rents the comforts of one.
The first hub has just been built in Rotterdam with all of its utilities connected to an existing framework at a single point via piping and wiring. If the pilot goes well, DeHub’s makers hope to quickly roll out the system in empty warehouse spaces to provide temporary housing to those in need. The ingenious and affordable design offers another option for low-cost housing in a world that is only getting more unaffordable. Learn more about the project here.
