Tom Hardy is starring as the protagonist of Taboo, a new TV series based off of Hardy’s original idea together with his father and consulting producer, Chips Hardy. Also featuring Ridley Scott and Steven Knight on board as executive producers, the thrilling drama series takes us to 1814 with a story that follows James Keziah Delaney (Hardy), a man thought to be long dead, who returns home to London from Africa with stolen diamonds on a mission to avenge his father’s death and inherit his shipping company empire. Brimming with suspense, conspiracy and murder, the show spins a tale that surrounds a dark family history of treachery and betrayal.
FX will launch the Kristoffer Nyholm-directed Taboo with an eight-episode miniseries as a co-production between FX and BBC One. Based on the first trailer the show is looking to be a brilliant performance from Hardy, who currently faces seven Oscar nominations for films The Revenant and Mad Max: Fury Road.
