RetailMeNot's Playful Austin Office Is Creatively Laid out Like a Website
For starters, the receptionists are all baristas.
Online coupon site RetailMeNot’s new Austin office is definitely the most creative work space you’ll see today. The multi-floored headquarters is meant to imitate RetailMeNot’s website: the lobby is laid out like a home-page—complete with a neon ‘Hello!’ sign and a coffee-bar staffed by baristas instead of receptionists; the rest of the office is organized categorically to mirror the retailer’s digital departments, i.e. automobiles, home & gardening, gaming, travel, etc. The category of the conference space determines its decor: for example, the game room features an Operation-style conference table and Connect Four wall decor.
The result is a creative and playful office environment that lends itself to collaborative project work while always keeping the site’s retail end in crystal clear focus.
