John Elliott 2016 Fall/Winter Collection Explores New Layering Concepts
Fresh from his recent involvement in YEEZY Season 2.
Don’t let the monochromatic palette starting off John Elliott‘s 2016 fall/winter collection fool you into thinking the label is back for another clean-cut collection. The LA-based designer — featured in YEEZY Season 2’s backstage footage – went darker this season, taking a turn for somber. The collection heavily explored concepts of layering on different silhouettes in new textures — one model emerged a parachute jacket over a shearling sweatshirt while another bore a half-pebbled-half-smooth leather half-zip. It’s a masterful hybrid of athleticism-based streetwear but on a harder, tougher note. What do you think of the new look?
