Watch Russian Skateboarder Roma Alimov "Skate Near Death"
Whatever you do: don’t look down.
It appears that Russian skateboarder Roma Alimov has taken the old “Skate or Die” adage to its logical extreme in his latest video “Skate Near Death.” The idea behind the self-professed “skate-poem” it is literal enough: Alimov’s part consists entirely of tricks and lines that put him in precarious, life-threatening situations, be it grinding railings on overpasses and bridges or playing chicken with an oncoming Metro train. The end product is stressful enough to induce sweaty palms in even the most iron-hearted of viewers. If any video warrants a “Do Not Try This At Home” disclaimer, it’s this one.
For an ever-so-slightly safer skate video, watch these California skaters whipping up colorful clouds on flat-ground.
