Goldie Awarded MBE Honor by British Monarchy
The Midlands boy and one of Stussy’s originals done good.

OG Stussy Tribe member, Drum & Bass legend and British national treasure, Goldie, has been awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) by Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace. Bestowed with the honor for his services to music, the 50-year-old commented that “It’s a bit of a shocker but a very, very beautiful thing to happen. I think it also stands for what you can achieve – anything really.” A prominent figure in British and global streetwear, Goldie rose to fame in the ’90s producing iconic debut album Timeless and going on to define a generation of British Drum & Bass output, as well as starring in James Bond film The World Is Not Enough in 1999, and Guy Ritchie’s Snatch the following year. The West Midlands hero dedicated the award to his late mother Margaret, who passed last year, claiming “I can see my old dear smiling. Who would ever have imagined I would be given this kind of silverware.”
