The Nintendo Switch hasn’t even been presented to the public yet, but a deep dive into a patent shows that there could be a VR headset for the console on the way. A NeoGAF member spotted the patent, pictured below, which looks like a head-mounted display that would hold the portable gaming device. The patent, filed in June, is a large whole and this is just a small part of it. This doesn’t confirm Nintendo is definitely developing a VR accessory/headset and also doesn’t confirm that the upcoming Switch will be VR compatible. However, it is a strong start to justifying VR inclusion for the device. This is a topic to monitor for anyone interested in purchasing the Switch. The list of current publishers, developers, and middleware partners that will support Nintendo Switch can be found here.
