Fresh off successfully defending his IBF heavyweight title against Eric Molina with a third-round stoppage, Anthony Joshua will sit down with HYPEBEAST Sports for a live chat on our Facebook page hosted by Beats by Dre president Luke Wood and Julie Adenuga from Beats1 Radio. The 27-year-old is a rising star in the heavyweight ranks: at the amateur level, the Englishman won silver at the 2011 World Championships and gold at the 2012 Olympics, while his professional record currently sits at 18-0, with all of his wins coming by knockout. He’s a monstrous force, one that is leading the next generation of heavyweight fighters, however, before he can claim this throne as the undisputed champ, he has to go through Wladimir Klitschko, a Ukrainian that is highly regarded as one of the greatest boxing champions of all time.
Joshua and Klitschko announced their April 29, 2017 fight just after the former’s win on Saturday night. Klitschko (40) — who lost his WBA (Super), WBO, IBF, IBO, The Ring and lineal heavyweight titles to Tyson Fury late last year — is hoping for one more title run before hanging up his gloves. Joshua on the other hand is in the middle of his accession, so a win against an icon of this stature will surely solidify his place as boxing’s newest main attraction.
We will be sitting down with the budding superstar athlete for an exclusive interview, discussing the role of music in his training and his fighting mindset amongst many other topics. It will be broadcast live on our Facebook page Tuesday, December 13 at 14:00 p.m. EST (7:00 p.m. GMT). Be sure to tune in as Anthony may be fielding some questions from those viewing the conversation in real time.
